I have a repeating issue whereby my desktop drops internet connection despite wireless service being Excellent… My laptop has no such issues. Please Help!
I have wireless via my Toshiba Cable Modem PCX5000 installed by RoadRunner/TimeWarnerCable.
My Desktop, a Dell Optiplex GX260 connects through a Netgear WG 111 Wireless Adapter. It runs XP Home (SP2). After a reboot or a wireless repair I get internet for a bit but if I leave my PC for more than 5-10mins, the internet is gone. I’ve tried disabling my firewall (ZoneAlarm) but no luck.
My work laptop works fantastic with the wireless anywhere in the house – its a Dell Latitude D610 running XP Pro.
I’m at your beck & call to troubleshoot & appreciate any ideas.
