xp clients unable to connect to server/internet/email

I'd really appreciate if anyone can help here.
Our server is a SBS 2003. Clients are XP pro. One of the staff had to relocate. Had to add new user to user her computer. First disabled the old user then added a new user in AD. All went well. Then some sofware update came up in the server so did the update. Then after restarting the server, the clients can't ping it. Server can ping clients no probs. clients can ping each other but not the server.
Has anyone had similar problem before? Would appreciate any help.
