xp crashing

by BorgInva In reply to xp crashing

I have the exact same problems when doing things from accessing a 3D home design program to executing a patch for a game. My XP is a fresh install from 2 months ago. It is one of two things:
the OS itself or memory.
One other question: what type of video board do you have? Mine is Voodoo 3 2000, and it is bad, causing all kinds of crashes.

I myself have the same motherboard setup, I found that a fresh install is best, video card can make a difference. My video card is a Geforce MX400/64. Did your read the "Event viewer" to find out what exactly is happening. Usually when I have issues, I go into the "Computer Management" under Setting/Contro Panal/Admin Tools. It has been very helpful.
