xp problems with p4vmm2 motherboard

By boyevil655 ·
What do I have to do to get my new elite p4vmm2 to recognize my exsisting hard drive that has windows xp home edition on it. Do I have to change the bios. I tried this hard drive on a shuttle board and it reconized it right away. What do I need to do? The board will except a clean install of me. I can't even do an upgrade of xp to this board. Someone have the answer let me know.

First thing I would try is clear CMOS. Then install hard drive and boot up.

In your cmos setup look to see if the hard drive is set to auto detect. Then look to see if the drive is showing up there. If not, upgrade the bios. If it shows up then you may need to set the partition active from fdisk.
