XP Re-booting

By pohbearcynthia ·
I'm running XP home edition on a dell 4400 computer. I gto 256 rm, 1.6 mgz cpu, a nic, modem, and a 40 gb hard drive. The only thing install on the Pc is the OS(XP home Edition) and all of the drivers that came with the pc. I'm able to connect tothe internent using a cable modem. I'm able to navigate to the following sites, yahoo, excite, and msn. The problem i'm having is I go to netscape.com, i get a system dump, and the machine re-boots. If I go to msn hotmail, I'm able to open mail, but as soon as i close a mail i get a systems dump and the machine re-boot. I did a clean install to make sure their is no driver issue. Can any one help me.

Thanks fro the help. The problem was the initial installation of XP from Dell was corrup. when they configure AOL and MSN to be the internet provider, so when i install COx.net things got more corrup. Re-freshing the OS did not fix the problem. SO I re-partiion the hard drive and formatted correctly. I instal the Os and all applicable Drivers. I did not install AOLand MSN. The PC is running good and I'm able to get to any WebSite.

which version of Ie are you running? I suggest reinstalling it with all new patches, if that doesn't work, maybe try installing an older version (IE 5.5 SP2A)

Try to get all updates for XP, latest version of Internet Explorer and the latest drivers for all your hardware (XP compatible drivers).
