I currently have a laptop with XP home edition with a Netgear MA401 wireless card and connected to a router. The laptop connects to the internet just fine. But, i cannot see any computer on the network, even my own. Searching by computer name gives me the same result (0). I noticed though that when i run the home network wizard from XP, the wizard indicates that it is going to disable client for microsoft networks and file and print sharing which it does by unchecking the box to select it as active (once unchecked there is no way of activating client and sharing unless i reinstall the Netgear MA401 or uninstall and reinstall client and file sharing). I have pinged itself with good results. just seems odd that the TCP/IP is functional but not file and print sharing. any suggestions.
