XP User Account Losing password

by speed_freek . Updated 19 years, 3 months ago

Hello all, I have tried searching for this problem in your forums but was unable to find this exact issue mentioned.

I am slowing bring up my client from stand alone systems to a managed network. I don’t have the servers up yet and I am currently using multiple user accounts on different machines, with shares local hard drives.

The systems are P4 2.6Ghz, 512 MB Ram, SATA, WIN XP PRO SP2

One of the non-administrator I have continues to intermittently lose the password. By losing the password, when entering the account and trying to logon from “CTRL + ALT + DEL” prompt it tells me the user account isnt proper or I don’t have the correct domain qualifications

I do not run the pc in domain yet, just our regular workgroup. When I enter administrator password on the system, I can log in fine and with control userpassords2 I can update the password, log off and log back in to the non-administrator account no problem. If I shut down and restart, the problem comes back.

I have checked the network to ensure its not domain ready. Local Security policy has been checked and passwords are set not to expire. I have even gone in and changed the password expiry date to something and changed back.

-The last time I did this, the system was up for 3 days and suddenly this morning it is losing its privledges to log in the non-adminsitrator account.

Any ideas where to go from here?
Thanks
