I have an XP user account attached to a domain that crashed last week. The person that rebuilt the server restored service but I have serveral issues with clients systems logging on to the network
Now with that background…the server was called XXXX prior to the hard drive failure and was restored with the very same name on the new drives.
The issue is clients logging on to the domain. Event Viewer is getting full all the time with authenication errors.
The resolution that I was given was change the domain to a temp workgroup and then back to the domain. The issue is that is made the user account for this end user system seem like a brand new account. The end user can not get to thier customized desktop…ie thier emails, personal notes…etc.
What can I do to unwind this mess?
