Groupwise 5.5 on a Pocket PC

By ross.bale ·
Our directors want to be able to access their Groupwise 5.5 email over the internet and pull it down to a Pocket PC, I have found software to do it - it is either very expensive or needs GroupWise 6.5 - is there another way, they would prefer to get the email on the handheld rather than webaccess so they can read it offline.

The best application that we have found for handheld devices and GroupWise is Intellisync. It can be real temperamental but is the best of the ones out there. Another option, which most of us shy away from, is to configure Outlook Express as the mail client on the local PC. Most if not all HH Devices will connect native to Outlook. However, you have to take the good with the bad then; they can get their mail, but had the open vulnerabilities that we all have seen with Outlook.
One thing to tell the user, "if you get too much mail down loaded on the handheld, it may crash and you could loose it all off of there." maybe 60% of the time this is snough to discourage them getting email on there.
