internet history

By half ·
Not long ago everything was in print, and the books ect were saved for generations.
And gave us great insight to their lives and lifestyles
The INTERNET is a very disposable medium, sites and information can be deleted in a instant, losing that information, for ever.
What is happening to some of the blogs , discussions ect that are going on now.
And what will historians say about our lifestyle and INTERNET use in the future.
Will it be ;It seemed to be a big part of the peoples lives but we have scant information about it;.Nothing was saved
We live in such a disposable part of history. This is not a pointed stick at this site, just a general view

I would think that most bloggers would back up their own data

What historians will write about our time is not very clear now. While I think it is good for some goups to try to back up the internet, why cannot the individual blogs back up their own data on more permanent storage like DVD? That is similar to books as a way to publish, if someone wants it.
