Have you tried to use the controller with another computer or PS5 gaming system? Did it ever work with your desktop? Too many unknown details to properly troubleshoot.

What settings exactly? There are so many settings in Windows that this is a rather unhelpful answer.

. Connect the Controller to Your PC
Wired Connection: Use a USB-C cable to connect the PS5 controller directly to your PC. This is the most reliable method and ensures Steam recognizes the controller.Bluetooth Connection:
Put the PS5 controller in pairing mode by holding the PS button and the Create button (the small button next to the touchpad) until the light bar starts flashing.
On your PC, go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices and click Add Bluetooth or other device.
Select Bluetooth and choose the controller from the list (it may appear as “Wireless Controller”).
2. Enable PS5 Controller Support in Steam
Open Steam and go to Settings (top-left corner).Select Controller from the left menu.
Click General Controller Settings.
Check the box for PlayStation Configuration Support.
If your controller is connected, it should appear in the detected controllers list.
3. Update Controller Firmware (if needed)
If you have a PS5, connect the controller to it and check for firmware updates in the system settings. If you don’t have a PS5, ensure your PC has the latest Bluetooth and USB drivers.
4. Check for Steam Beta Updates
Sometimes, Steam’s beta versions have better controller support:Go to Steam > Settings > Account.
Under Beta Participation, click Change and opt into the beta.
Restart Steam and check if the controller works.
5. Use DS4Windows (Optional)
If Steam still doesn’t recognize your PS5 controller, you can use DS4Windows, a third-party tool that emulates an Xbox controller (which is widely supported):Download DS4Windows from ds4windows.com.
Install and run the program.
Follow the setup instructions to pair your PS5 controller.
Launch Steam and try again.
6. Test the Controller in Big Picture Mode
Steam’s Big Picture Mode often handles controllers better:Open Steam and click Big Picture Mode (the controller icon in the top-right corner).
Go to Settings > Controller Settings and ensure the PS5 controller is detected.
Launch a game from Big Picture Mode to test the controller.
7. Restart Steam and Your PC
Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues. If none of these steps work, let me know, and we can troubleshoot further! for further info
