Network Logging/Bandwidth Use?

By akstephr ·
I need to log what each computer accesses in the way of websites. My Netgear firewall does this and emails the logs to me when they reach their "full point" (about 120 pages). I am getting about thirty emails of logs a day from the firewall, and I can't export the logs into Excel or Access, they are just plain text. Does anyone know of a work around or software that will do the same thing (need web site by IP -- I have static IP's)

Also, would like to see if anyone knows of a tool to measure bandwidth usage by IP address? Thank You!

What server environment are you using?
Microsoft ISA is very effective in monotoring top users (of internet) when it is configured and all clients are set to use the ISA server IP as a proxy (requires moderate tweaking in group policy but not brain surgery :)). ISA goes as far as monitoring the most accessed sites also and traffic per site. It does not give a users vs site report, but It's not terribly hard to figure out.

I would have to stick with my first suggestion, but I would suggest you visit www.isaserver.org for more tricks and tips for configuring ISA. A handy tool I have implemented here is GFI web monitor for ISA server, a small FREE tool that monitors site access per employee. The one downside I have experienced with this software is that it registers per site "hit" rather than visit. For example, visiting www.symantec.com generates about 22 or so hits :)
