Starting last week, I am unable to save Excel or Word documents to an NT4 server. Excel gives a “document not saved” dialog box, Word gives a different window. Other document formats (.txt or .pdf) work fine and it behaves like a permissions issue (but it is not). This only ssems to affect Office 2007 users, my users w/ earlier versions had no complaint. While trying to narrow down the variables, I restored my desktop to 4/14 which was before the last MS updates and the problem went away!! I’ve now seen a couple of references to KB980232, but so far no solution other than to NOT apply this hot fix. any other observations or suggestions?
