I am interested to know of any resources out there for optimising a windows workstation’s (Windows 7 specifically) network config.
Specifically, I am interested in minimising the time taken for a given workstation to read data from its network card (multicast in my application) and making it available to resident application which will then process this data.
I want to be able to educate myself on how Windows implements/manages this process and subsequently get a handle on “under the hood” configuration settings to refine it on a given computer (rather than just plugging the computer into the network and assuming it will work optimally)
If anyone has the name of some books / internet links which could help me, I’d greatly appreciate it.
