Power outage resulted in our exchange server unavailable.How do we restore?

Recently had a power outage in the area. The exchange server now says it's unavailable. How do we get this restored promptly as it's needed for our business.

This may sound stupid, but are you sure it is ON?? If so, check IP address, ping the domain from the server. Ping the server from the domain. Restart it, check DNS, check services. Your question isn't that specific, and it seems you haven't tried any of the stuff i just listed, so is hard for us to truly answer..

Where would I go to check if it's on? I'm usually the one who handles it so I'm feeling a bit silly here. How do I ping the server? I haven't tried any of the things you've listed. We've had power outages before but never had this problem. )
