    SMS integration into Teams

    by werndb ·

    Hi everyone,

We are a small IT company managing multiple O365 tenants. Now, we have recently activated MFA on all of our Global Admin accounts and all of these send the codes to a single number.

What makes this quite a bit difficult is that should someone need to log in and make a change on a tenant, there needs to be someone constantly monitoring the phone number to provide the code.

My question is – is there a way we could integrate that specific number to our Microsoft Teams, so everyone within the organization would effectively be able to receive the code on Teams – thus eliminating the need for someone to monitor the phone constantly?

We are based in South Africa.
    Thank you in advance!

Sounds like MFA isn’t for you.

Try TFA or good old password systems.

Frankly if the authentication code sent by SMS was integrated into Teams that would effectively NULLIFY the security of TFA or MFA.

-> Not to launch into a teardown of this idea let’s wrap this up with a repeat that SMS MFA/TFA isn’t a solution for your company.
