      Hi!

Actually, I don’t see much negative impact on mental health.
Video games for me is a form of escapism, when you can find yourself in a beautiful video game enviroment, experience adrenaline fighting some enemies, enjoy a storyline and character’s development.
What negative effect can it have if you take this responsibly?
The only drawback I can actually see is that you don’t develop your brain much, games don’t help you grow as a human being,
      otherwise they are great!

This thread reminds me of people asking about long-term effects of using a cell phone. There is no single answer that fits all users/situations.

I remember when this debate was first brought up in the mid-to late 70’s and early 80’s with the original Atari game systems. There were some rating standards developed as a result, but no specific findings actually proved there was any connection with such games and mental health. Just smoke and mirrors as usual.
