Apple announced four major smart home products on Oct. 13, 2026: Apple HomeView, HomePod mini 2, Apple TV 4K (4th generation), and Apple Home Collection. The new lineup introduces a smart home display, an updated speaker, a streaming device, and connected-home accessories developed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric.

Preorders for HomeView, HomePod mini 2, and Apple TV 4K are open now, with availability beginning in October and November. Home Collection accessories will arrive in December, with some products following in early 2027.

Siri AI is central to Apple’s updated home ecosystem, but not every device will support it immediately. HomePod mini 2 requires a future software update, and regional restrictions also apply.

Apple HomeView: Two $299 smart displays launching Nov. 13

Apple HomeView combines a 7-inch Liquid Retina display with Siri AI, FaceTime, entertainment, and smart home controls.

The device recognizes up to six household members by their faces, giving each person access to a personalized Home Screen and content.

Apple offers two versions:

  • Tabletop HomeView: $299, available in silver, starlight, rose pink, and space gray.
  • Wall-mounted HomeView: $299, available in space gray and silver. Compatible Schneider Home mounts start at $59.95.

Both models become available Nov. 13. Preorders opened Oct. 13 in the US, Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, and the UK. Singapore preorders begin Oct. 15, while South African customers can order through authorized resellers.

HomeView can display security camera feeds, control connected accessories, and handle Siri AI requests. Its personal-context features, including information from Messages and Calendar, require pairing with a compatible Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad.

Apple previously outlined its HomeView plans ahead of the launch, but the final announcement confirms the designs, pricing, and availability.

HomeView will not initially be sold in the European Union, where Apple says Siri AI remains unavailable in iOS.

HomePod mini 2: $149, with Siri AI coming later

The HomePod mini 2 features Apple’s S10 chip, updated audio capabilities, and five colors: pink, green, blue, white, and midnight.

It costs $149 and is available for preorder now, with sales beginning Oct. 30 in the US and more than 23 other countries and regions.

The speaker supports stereo pairing, multiroom audio, and smart home controls.

Apple also announced four-speaker surround sound when HomePod mini 2 is paired with the new Apple TV 4K. The configuration uses four compatible HomePod speakers to create a coordinated home theater setup.

However, Siri AI will not be available on HomePod mini 2 at launch.

Apple says the feature will arrive through a future software update, initially supporting English in selected markets, including the US, Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, and the UK.

The company has not announced a specific release date for that update.

Homeowners planning to use advanced Siri features should distinguish the speaker’s launch functionality from the capabilities arriving later. Apple’s existing Siri AI features also have device and language requirements.

Apple TV 4K (4th generation): $299, available Nov. 13

Apple also announced the fourth-generation Apple TV 4K, resolving the pricing and availability questions left unanswered in earlier reports.

The streaming device costs $299 and is available for preorder now, with availability beginning Nov. 13.

It introduces Apple’s A19 chip, which the company says provides up to 50% faster CPU performance and twice the GPU performance of the previous generation.

Other changes include:

  • Siri AI: A conversational assistant for discovering entertainment and answering questions about content.
  • Hands-free voice control: Three built-in far-field microphones allow users to interact with Siri without holding the remote.
  • Four-speaker surround sound: Support for compatible HomePod mini 2 and second-generation HomePod configurations.
  • Find My improvements: A Siri Remote with Precision Finding and an audible location feature.
  • Smart home controls: Camera activity descriptions, summarized notifications, and accessory management through the Home app.

Apple says Siri AI is available as a beta on Apple TV 4K (second generation or later), subject to device and regional requirements.

The fourth-generation Apple TV 4K supports the new four-speaker configuration. Buyers considering the setup should account for the additional cost of the speakers.

Apple Home Collection: Cameras, locks, and thermostats from $199.95

Apple Home Collection introduces connected-home accessories developed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric.

The lineup includes security cameras, a video doorbell, a smart lock, thermostats, and environmental sensors.

Confirmed starting US prices include:

Product Starting price
LG Indoor Cam Plug-In $199.95
LG Video Doorbell Wired $249.95
LG Outdoor Cam Plug-In $299.95
LG Floodlight Cam $399.95
LG Smart Deadbolt Lock $349.95
LG Smart Thermostat $199.95
Schneider Home Smart Thermostat $199.95
LG or Schneider Home temperature sensor $39.95

Apple says accessories will begin arriving in December, with selected products delayed until early 2027.

The cameras provide up to 2.5K video resolution, although the video doorbell’s secondary downward-facing camera records in full HD.

A compatible Apple home hub and supported iCloud+ plan enable encrypted camera history. Eligible plans also support Apple Intelligence features such as automatic video descriptions and natural-language footage searches.

The smart deadbolt uses Ultra Wideband technology for proximity-based unlocking and supports local access functions without an internet connection.

Apple says every Home Collection device supports Thread and can be set up through the Apple Home app without requiring a separate manufacturer account.

The announcement confirms the products previously described in reports about Apple’s LG partnership.

Siri AI, compatibility, and what buyers should check

Apple’s new smart home lineup relies heavily on Siri AI and Apple Intelligence, but availability differs by device.

HomeView and Apple TV 4K offer Siri AI at launch in supported regions. HomePod mini 2 requires a future update.

Personalized requests drawing on Messages, Calendar, and other app information also require a compatible Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad.

For Home Collection cameras, buyers need to confirm the requirements of their home hub and iCloud+ plan. Apple provides 10 days of encrypted video history, while advanced AI search and descriptions depend on plan eligibility.

Regional availability also varies. HomeView is not initially available in the EU, while some Home Collection devices launch only in selected markets.

Apple says Home Collection accessories support encrypted data handling, local processing, and Private Cloud Compute. These protections are based on Apple’s published security architecture rather than independent testing of the newly announced hardware.

For buyers assembling a complete system, costs extend beyond the central devices. A $299 HomeView, $249.95 video doorbell, and $349.95 smart lock total $898.90 before tax, installation, mounting hardware, or any applicable iCloud+ subscription.

Apple’s announcements confirm the hardware lineup, prices, and launch windows. Buyers should check regional availability, supported devices, and software requirements before ordering, particularly if Siri AI or advanced camera features are essential to their setup.
