Brother Printer error... HELP!! cant find any answers anywhere!!

By neilam_rani ·

I get the following message when I try to print photos on BROTHER HL-2700CN. The error message is actually printed out on paper, instead of the pictures:

PCL XL error
Subsystem: KERNEL
Error: InsufficientMemory
Operator: EngImage
Position: 442

It happens sometimes, not all the time, but it is very annoying.

Can anyone help??

OK I'm not sure that this is the solution but

Standard the printer comes with 64 Meg and is expandable to 576 MEG so I would hazard a guess that any images that you send to the printer when you get this error message being printed are too big for it's internal Memory and you either need to reduce the Size of the Picture or fit more RAM to the Printer.

A full list of Technical Specifications are available here for this printer

Error message.

Also the text could be from the "stamp/background" image. You just need to look in your printers "stamp/background" image section and turn it off.

Upgrade your memory

hi !!
This problem may be due to insufficient memory at the time of printing disposable to system. Try out by upgrading RAM of your system and minimize the usage of memory before and during printout.

I've seen this happen when our advertising guy prints adobe photo shop files that are high end. What's in your pictures?

I'm just printing photos - about 2 photos per A4 paper. I guess it could be that Im sending too many photos to the printer at once..?
