Color LaserJet spits out blank pages; I have only a temporary fix.

By thoover ·
I have an HP Color LaserJet 4500N. Recently, and seemingly out of the blue, all print jobs sent to this printer were spat out blank pages by the dozens, no matter how many pages were supposed to print.

In looking for the problem, we were able to eventually get an error message to pop up on the printer that said the drum life was low. So I changed the drum and am able to get the printer to work, but only temporarily.

When it begins spitting out the blanks I can rectify the problem by pulling out the drum, waiting for the printer to tell me to insert a drum, inserting the drum and resending the print job. This seems to me to be a huge waste of time.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what is occurring with it, and/or how to fix it permanantly?

Thank you very much for your help!
