I am working on setting up a family member’s computer. It is an older HP Pavillion XL768 with WIndows XP Pro installed. The computer has an nVidia Vanta graphics card installed. When I first started using the computer, I noticed that the display was streaking, for lack of a better word. Basically, there are translucent horizontal bars all down the screen in varying shades of gray. I checked nVidia’s website and found no drivers period (much less updated ones); same results on Windows Update. I have double checked the settings on the computer to no avail. I have tried two seperate monitors and have ruled the monitor out. Has anyone else expereinced this before, and if so how do you fix it? Thanks in advance for any help.
