Hearing amplifier with mic
LockedBob, you may recall helping me with a hearing amplifier a couple of years back. There’s now a complication. When Google Voice wouldn’t work, Google support finally tracked it down. There was no mic. But the headphones I was using did have a mic! After the headphones manufacturer’s support was unable to help, the company’s (JLabs) CEO diagnosed the problem. My headphones with mic was plugged into the amplifier, which didn’t have any mic capabilities, and thus, the computer didn’t see the mic.
I’ve tried searching for an inexpensive (up to $30) amplifier with mic, but haven’t found anything. Can you help?

With a jack splitter like this one https://www.allekabels.nl/jack-verloop/53/3387462/jack-splitter-microfoon-en-audio.html (sorry, the text is in Dutch, but the picture is clear), you can connect the headphone to both the amplifier (for the incoming sound) and the input jack of whatever device you want the microphone of your headset connected to (a computer?).
You might need an extension cable for one of the two if the amplifier and the device to connect the microphone to are located at some distance of each other.
