HP 5100 Envelope printing problem.

By tara ·
I have an HP 5100 laserjet and am trying to print A6 envelopes on it.
I am using Mac InDesign and am not having any luck. I have chosen
A6 in the page setup and in the print dialog box. It's printing
properly on the envelope, but won't continue through the fuser and
out the other side. It jams right under the toner cartridge. Help!

A couple of things that might help

Make sure to use the multi-purpose tray to print the envelope. Line up the paper guides for the type of envelope you are using. Open the back output bin.

Sometimes the paper is too heavy a stock for the printer. You could try a lighter weight envelope. Fan the envelopes before putting them in the tray. Sometimes humidity will make them stick together. Don't put too many envelopes in the tray.

Re-seat the toner cartridge. Check to make sure that there are no bits of paper jammed underneath it or in the paper path.

Hope this helps. If all else fails, you could print clear labels. Good Luck!
