Hp laserjet 1100 C4224A

By charrison49 ·
I have a problem with my printer. The print is very very light. I have cleaned it and put in new toner, checked the setup and I can't seem to find the problem. The copier on my printer also copies very light.
HELP PLEASE. I really do like the 1100 because of the copy feature on the front and would like to keep using it.
Thanks,

light print

Most cases of light print is the toner cartridge being low, but with a new replacement, the next fault is most likely. At the bottom of the printer, in the area where the paper would roll against the toner cartridge, is a narrow channel that has a very fine wire down the middle. This is the corona transfer wire, it has a high voltage applied to attract the toner from the drum to the paper. The laser could also be dirty and not drawing a clean image on the photo drum.
