LASER PRINTER SUPPORT

By tech4life ·
Hello,
I work as a pc tech for a large medical organization. Included in my PC duties are printer problems i need to resolve. Was hoping we good start a thread, where people could post up some good links for printer probs. We use HP and Lexmark printers here. Right now i have a big issue with dirty pages on the Lexmark printers. Can anyone give any advice or help ? I do have the ability to order parts. But dont have alot of experince yet replacing the parts.

thanks,

Great Idea

by butlerchuck In reply to LASER PRINTER SUPPORT

I think a thread for network printers would be a great idea. What do you mean by dirty pages. are they smeard? If so the printer might need a good cleaning. would you mind elaberting a little? I will try to help.

Check your paper quality first...

by jtech9_2000 In reply to LASER PRINTER SUPPORT

Go to the manufacturer's website, if you don't have the documentation and check for the recommended paper. If the paper is too slick it will cause smearing. Lasers heat the plastic toner to 400 degrees, paper quality can make a huge difference.

Print Failed "Access Denied

by tommy In reply to LASER PRINTER SUPPORT

VERY PECULIAR!!! I have a server that has been printing fine for several months. Suddenly, over a weekend, I get
the message, 'access is denied' when I try to print. I can print a test page from the jetadmin software fine, but
if I try to print a test page from the printer properties, I get the access denied message. I had another NT server
on the network. I set the printers up on this server and shared them. It worked for one day, then I started getting access is denied on THAT server. The clients
print fine directly to the printer. Help!!!!
