LaserJet 8150 Print Quality, Repetitive defects

By richard.pontey ·
Anybody seen repeated images spaced at 140mm which a new fuser unit didn't cure?

Maintenance kit?

by pc21geek In reply to LaserJet 8150 Print Quali ...

Did you only replace the fuser? Or did you put a maint kit in the printer? There is a roller below the toner that needs to be replaced as well. Make sure the toner cartridge is in good shape too.

Maint. Kit

Thanks for the suggestion but the transfer roller and toner cartridge have been replaced. The repetitive defect ruler in the HP LaserJet QRG for the 8150 only shows the fuser as being the possible cause of repeats at 140mm. The repetition is of the printed data, not just 'marks'. If you print a Menu Map for example the menu titles and the full width black title bar will repeat further down the page (140mm) and sometimes will carry over and repeat on the next page or two. The fault is solid ie. every page has repeats. I've just swapped the fusers between this printer and another 8150, both printers are working ok at the moment! It certainly looks like it's fuser related.

Sounds like a photo drum roller

by mjd420nova In reply to LaserJet 8150 Print Quali ...

The repeat rate sounds like the photo drum roller. Was the cartridge replaced? There is a backup roller to that drum, but it would cause junk on the back side of the page and not the front. The fuser will afix what's placed there so it's not the fault.
