I recently purchased some refurbished ink cartridges for my Lexmark printer on ebay. The color worked fine but the black kept generating an error 1203. I managed to fix the problem by spraying the cartridge contacts with QD Contact Cleaner from CRC. Apparently the contacts had built up enough tarnish to prevent good contact. Printer works great now!
