Lexmark X9350 Wireless Printing

by dewdneys . Updated 18 years, 7 months ago

I have a working wireless LAN configured to provide IP addresses to my laptops and PCs using DHCP on the router. Separately the router uses NAT to enable a single ADSL connection to the internet – works great.

my problem is setting up a Lexmark X9350 to work wirelessly on this LAN; it works fine via USB connection.

Lexmark kindly provide a Wireless config utility which sets the SSID and WEP key, but is unable to connect to the printer wirelessly.

PC, laptop and printer all acquire IPs from the DHCP router and the router can ping all three.

the Laptop and PC can ping each other, but neither can ping the wireless printer. Get Destination Net Unreachable from Vista laptop and Request Timed Out from XP.

IP addresses are:
Router 192.168.0.1 255.255.255.0
Laptop 192.168.0.2 255.255.255.0 192.168.0.1
PC 192.168.0.4 255.255.255.0 192.168.0.1
Printer 192.168.0.3 255.255.255.0 192.168.0.1

All are on the same SSID configured with a working WEP key – as I said router can ping all three wirelessly.

Firewalls are off on both PC and laptop for testing purposes.

PC running XP, Laptop running Vista
Any suggestions?

cheers
Simon
