How to tell if my controller is aftermarket or not? Bought the controller it works for about 5 minutes then stops working. So I was wondering if it was because the controller software and console are not compatible because its aftermarket or if I got sold a broken controller? But I do not know how to tell which one it is.

Do you have warranty? Then back to the shop.

      You convinced me it’s broken.

It doesn’t matter if it’s aftermarket or not as “it’s broken.”
Back to the shop or store it goes.

To tell if your N64 controller is aftermarket

To tell if your N64 controller is aftermarket:

Branding: Official controllers have Nintendo logos; aftermarket ones may not.
Build Quality: Official controllers feel sturdier, while aftermarket ones may be cheaper.
Button/Joystick Response: If they feel different, it might be aftermarket.
Packaging: Official ones come with branded packaging.
If it stops working after a few minutes, it could be faulty, regardless of the brand. Try it on another console to check compatibility.
