Print to local printer from RDC

By qmd61 ·
I try to print to my local printer (from a program that is running on a remote computer that I am connected via Remote Desktop connection) , However I can not gain access to local printers that are available to the remote computer (I don't see my local printer on the list of "printers and Faxes"). What should I do to install my local printer on the remote computer which I run the program, (I don't have that program install on my local computer)?

Is this a Microsoft network?

Are you a member of a domain?

Is the remote system in your domain?

Is your printer shared?

Check Event Viewer & Error ID

Check in the System Log to view the error you are getting locally first. To view the System Log click Start and then click Control Panel. Click Performance and Maintenance, and then click Administrative Tools. Double?click Event Viewer to open it and then System Log to view.
Then check out this website: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=239088 to see if the Event ID corresponds and it will give you the solution.
Most likely, you don't have a compatible printer driver installed on the RDC computer.
