Printing Issue

By benwatson ·
I have a number of HP Laserjet 4200 on our network. today there has been numerous problems ie. printing to tray 1, printing extra blank page with document. Also, the Printing Properties page is not being displayed nor is the Printing Defaults error msg: (C:\windows\Explorer.exe Funtion address 0x234a5aa caused a protection fault. Property pages may not be displayed.) also if I try to update drivers on these printers it hangs.

A quick one would be to restart this service... see if it clears up the issues? Or if at all possible reboot the server... I know it's a messy resolution, but it can be quick and easy as to get your workforce up and running, and then you can troubleshoot the real issue without interruption from users needing to print (now!!) lol...

but have already tried both of these to no avail. This seems to have happened after one printer was re-installed on the print server, although the printer that was re-installed is working fine.

Any ideas ?

reinstalled printer, did you install this printer using an updated driver? You may need to specify that the other printers also use this updated driver... check to see which driver this reinstalled printer is using and set the rest to use the same...
