Seeking the most efficient means ( software, hardware or combo of both ) to achieve the objective below.
TECHNCIAL BACKGROUND
Workstation #1 (Wks#1) : XP PC with multi-monitor desktop display
Workstation #2 (Wks#2) : Identical to Wks#1 (XP PC with multi-monitor desktop display)
Both workstations are on same LAN and domain
USER BACKGROUND
User wants ability to quickly move between 2 identical workstations, each running their same Window?s session, and be able to immediately work at either one. There must be no noticeable latency between the two workstations.
OBJECTIVE
Allow a single domain user to log-in on Wks#1 and have Wks#1?s multi-monitor desktop replicated exactly onto Wks#2?s multi-monitor display. The user logs into the domain on Wks#1. The user has full control of their single Window?s session on both Wks#1 & Wks#2.
Current Proposed Solution
Use Window?s Remote Assistance to establish the replication of Wks#1?s desktop onto Wks#2.
Drawbacks :
1 – Requires manual invitation / acceptance process between the two workstations.
2 – On ?remote? workstation (Wks#2), the Remote Assistance window?s title, menu button and status bars can not be hidden. Ideal outcome is to have exact duplication of Wks#1?s desktop display on Wks#2?s monitors. Note : Wks#2 is the remote ?expert? workstation invited by ?novice? Wks#1 to share control of Wks#1.
Is there any way to hide the Remote Assistance window?s title, menu & status bars?
If not, any suggestions as to how achieve the Objective?
Thanks.
