    User activity log

    by Kris Lee ·

Is there a software that can be used in small to medium companies to log user activity on computers, I mean more than one, so that the data can be uploaded and the logs can be centrally managed, perhaps with some permissions assigned. To suit the administrator for internal audits.

Let me start with a basic question. What kind of activities do you want to know about, and what data do you want to audit?

      Like:
      – programs run (which ones, how often, how long)
      – sites visited (which ones, how many pages, what pages)
      – files downloaded (which ones)
      – logon/logoff times
      – number of mails received and written

And let me note that there are countries where, depending on the size of the company, such auditing and monitoring must be regulated and approved by the workers council. And if you use free-lancers they must agree (or refuse) in their contract.
