Please tell me all about it. For me, a clean install doesn’t find malicious software. I would have to add it later!

That would be what we call a Clean Install.

There are some malicious titles that are so bad it’s best to start over as the DAMAGE runs deep and the system will never work correctly even if the malicious software was removed.

Microsoft has some basic OS repair tools but I’ve never seen it put the OS back to before the malicious software did the damage.

Now if you know the name of the malicious software you can see if the usual tools such as MalwareBytes and others can remove it. But damage done to the OS may still remain. Also, any data pilfered by such is also not going to be recalled.

There are several types of software available that can help you remove different types of malicious software from your Windows computer. Here are some of the most common types:

      1. Antivirus software: This is perhaps the most well-known type of software for removing malware. Antivirus software scans your computer for known viruses and other malicious programs and removes them.

      2. Anti-spyware software: Spyware is a type of malware that monitors your computer activity and sends information back to its creator. Anti-spyware software can detect and remove spyware programs.

      3. Firewall software: A firewall is a program that monitors incoming and outgoing network traffic and can block unauthorized access to your computer. While it’s not designed specifically to remove malware, it can help prevent malware from getting onto your computer in the first place.

      4. Malware removal tools: Some software is specifically designed to remove malware. These tools may be able to detect and remove malware that other software can’t.

      5. Rootkit scanners: Rootkits are a type of malware that can be difficult to detect and remove. Rootkit scanners are specialized tools that can scan your computer for these types of programs.

It’s important to note that no single type of software can completely protect you from all types of malware. Using a combination of different types of software can help provide better overall protection for your computer. Additionally, it’s important to keep your software up to date and to exercise caution when downloading files or clicking on links from unknown sources.
