My USB wired keyboard is NOT seen by my 2019 MacBookPro 10.15.7 Catalina
It works fine on Early 2013 MBP and 2014 Mac Mini (both Catalina)
It is connected via Apple brand USBs to USB-C adapter (new with 2019 MBP)
    Keyboard Model A1243 (w/number pad)
I’ve tried resetting NVRAM, SMC and deleting preferences to no avail.

What I’d try before calling Apple.

      1. Try other USB keyboards.
      2. Delete the HIToolbox.plist file noted at https://macreports.com/usb-keyboard-not-working-on-your-mac-fix/ and try again.

I tried the deleting of that preference and no luck for the Apple A1243

        Kinda.

I was able to try a keyboard (Dell, full windows keyboard with number pad, USB wired)
I plugged it in on the USB to USB-C dongle into the left of the MBP and it worked instantly (after I was prompted to identify the keys beside the shift keys)
Then, I plugged my Apple A1243 keyboard into the
USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter (Leaving the Dell Keyboard attached via USB to USB-C adapter) and The A1243 worked!

It DOES NOT work when I moved it to the USB-C to USB Adapter

Now to restart it and see if it still works….
