Shell Improves Global Team Collaboration, Reduces Costs with Communications Solution

Shell has teams of employees and partners who work together from many locations. The company wanted a flexible communications solution that would maximize collaboration, enabling dispersed team members to quickly and virtually find and communicate with colleagues. The solution: Microsoft Lync, which provides instant messaging, presence information, voice and conferencing. Employees can reach one another regardless of location and can use Lync with an Internet connection on a computer or mobile device. The Lync Web App for Lync 2013 will facilitate calls with external vendors and partners who do not have access to Lync. They can use the Lync Web App to join conferences and fully participate in voice, video and application sharing. Administrator rights are not required to install the plug-in for the Lync Web App, making it easy for anyone to join.
