When projects grow they get more complicated, which means more and more work for your team. When the amount of tasks an individual team member has nears the point of overwhelming, they shouldn’t have to hunt around different boards and views just to see what tasks have been assigned to them.

SEE: Hiring kit: Project manager (TechRepublic Premium)

That’s where monday work management’s My Work feature comes into play. With My Work, every team member has quick access to all of their tasks, collected in one convenient view, so they can see what work they have yet to complete. This means those team members no longer have to depend on multiple views to see everything assigned to them.

My Work can also be customized to display items from specific users, boards, status columns and date columns. What that means is My Work can be applied to individual team members, team leaders and even project managers. With the ability to add multiple team members to a single My Work view, a leader or manager can keep tabs on certain teams or team members.

In other words, My Work is an incredibly important piece of the project management puzzle for monday work management and your teams should be using it. Let me show you how to access and customize the monday work management My Work view.

What you’ll need to use My Work

The only thing you’ll need to use the My Work view is a valid monday work management account. You can use either the free or paid plan, as My Work is available to both.

How to access My Work

You might think accessing My Work would be done by adding a new view. It’s not. In fact, monday work management built the feature right into the left sidebar.

Take a look at the top of the left sidebar, where you’ll see six icons (Figure A).

Click the icon that looks like a calendar — the second from the bottom — to open the My Work view. Once opened (Figure B), you’ll see every task assigned to you.

From the My Work view, you can change the status and dates of items, get quick access to the board that contains an item and search the items assigned to you. You cannot, however, add new items from this view, as that is not the purpose of My Work.

How to customize My Work

You can customize what you see in my work by clicking Customize to the right of the Search field. A new sidebar will appear at the right of the window (Figure C), where you can add new team members to the view and select the boards, status columns and date columns you want to include.
